Camping in New Mexico

Camping in New Mexico was quite a treat. Let's just say that is was nothing that we were used to. We like going camping to get away from the people so we do not have to socialize. When you camp here at Cimarron State Park it is like camping in the city. When we first got there Daniel and found our campsite that we reserved online and were flabergasted with what we saw. Practically every ten feet was a campsite so you were camping right on top of people. Then the one we reserved just happened to make the major highway that was probably ten feet away. Hello, we have kids can I say Dangerous and no fun. So we spent the whole day trying to get a refund for our reserved sight and trying to find something a little more fitting. Luckily we found a campsite hours later, it was still very crowded but it was not next to the highway. Fred and Meili came with their kids and Grandma and Papa Clare and Jacob. Once we coped with the idea that we were going to have to socialize it turned out to be a nice week. The fishing was very good and Blake was quite the fisherman. Daniel couldn't believe how good he really was. We were able to see Elk and deer and even had a Bear visit the campground. It was beautiful country and great weather.

Camping was fun and the kids loved hiking, fishing, and playing with their cousins. The deer came right into our campsite. It was quite exciting. Blake tried to chase after them but the Campground host yelled at him and said they could kick him.

Grandma Arrington

Words cannot express the love I have for my Grandma. She was one of those Grandmas you would see at every activity you had cheering you on. She has helped me make clothes, quilts and fix things when I mess them up. She has been a wonderful Grandma Great to my children. She taught Shaylee how to play the piano and would run around the house playing hide and seek with Blake. She past away on May 27, 2009 suddenly and I will miss her so much. Nodody could replace the special lady she was in my life, my husbands life and my childrens. I am so thankful for the time we were able to spend with her when she came out to visit us. She was and is a special lady and we will never forget the wonderful grandma and grandma great that she was.

Pinky

We had this beautful colt a while back and couldn't believe the color. The name of the color is Cremello. It has pink around its eyes and nose. I had never seen anything like it.

Our not so little Emma!

Emma enjoys playing with her cousin Avery. They have so much fun together. Emma is the bully and Avery just lets her. They usually play good together until Emma decides she wants something Avery has. I really need to work with Emma on being nice. The other day at church I saw Emma shove a little boy out of his chair because she wanted to sit in that particualr chair.

She wanted to put Daddy's shoes on. She is obsessed with shoes and will even cry if we try to take them off of her for her nap. What can I say a girl has got to love shoes!

Shaylee's Kindergarten Story

Shaylee has really gorwn from when she first started Kindergarten. She is learning to read, but still thinks she can't read yet because she cannot read the big words. I tried to tell her that doesn't mean she can't read but she insists that until she doesn't need any help, she cannot read. Here is her story for those who can't read Kindergarten writing: My horses like to play in the sun. I like when the sun comes out, when the sun comes out I like to lay in the flowers and smell them. When the sun comes out my horses have babies. The trees bloom and the flowers bloom. She never has had trouble coming up with things to say, only with being quiet.

Easter!

Can you believe tat the Easter Bunny actually visited our town? Yes, he came and the kids loved getting candy. Emma loved the candy but did not like that hairy person or rabbit. She would not sit on the Easter Bunnies lap even if he was giving out food. We had a nice day at Grandma aand Pap Moo Moo's. We flew kites and hunted easter eggs. The kids had a fun time with their cousins.

Easter Outfits

We got some dang cute outfits from Grandma Clare and wore them today for Easter.

Papa Lou and Grandma Great!

Look how cute they look. It was lots of fun having them visit, but I don't think they liked the cold.

Emma loved her Papa. Grandpa kept calling Emma, Emma lou, and she thought that was pretty neat. She decided her new nam for Papa was going to be Papa Lou. Every morning she wanted to know where Papa Lou was.

Grandma out in the cold with the kids checking on the baby colts. Can you tell she just might be a little cold? So much for spring weather it was more like Winter.

Easter Package

Meili and Fred's family sent us an Easter package and my children just loved it. It had cute notes and pictures from Hunter and Kenli. It also had this fun Easter chalk which the kids had a blast with. It kept them busy forever. They were very focused on their drawings and Emma would keep bringing them new chalk and switching the colors on them. Thanks again Clare's.

Mules!

We had an exciting time at our house. Two little mules were born. This one is a boy and we finally decided to name him Willie. The kids were choosing from Fred, Tiger and Lightning, but the winner was Willie. He is a Dunn and I got to watch it be born. It really was the most incredible thing to watch I absolutely loved it and so did Grandma Great who was visiting. The Mom let me rub the baby and help get it dry. It was born on Wed. at aroung 10 o'clock in the morning.

This cute little thing is Sally and she was born during the night so we didn't see her until morning and she was all ready running around. We think she is a Bay (sp.?). She looks like J.D. her Daddy who is a Donkey for anyone who doesn't know how you get a mule.

It is really fun to watch these little ones run around the pasture. I think it brought back memories of Grandma Great's childhood.

Student Driver

Get out of the way student driver ahead. Emma and Blake love going on drives together. It gets a little crazy sometimes because neither can drive very well but that is what makes it fun. They play so well together and the minute Emma wakes up from her nap she is yelling for Bway or Blake.

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

We had Emmie over to play and boy did Shaylee have fun. They painted toenails, made necklaces, stayed up all night, watched a movie, and played. These two girls are so much a like and just have a blast when they get together. We are so glad you came to play with us Emmie!

Shaylee dance clinic

The high school girls dance company put on a clinic for the Primary school. Shaylee had a blast. She wasn't quite sure she wanted to dance in front of all the parents but when the music started she just could not resist. I have the video but for some reason it won't post. I will try to post it later.

Emma is a Daddy's Girl

Emma loves to eat. She was so upset when her yogurt was gone that she tried to scrape every last drop with her hand. Of course she got her hand stuck in the yogurt. She would not release the yogurt so it took me forever to get her hand out. She was not going to lose her last drops of yogurt.

Our family, except mom and Emma, get bloody noses all of the time. It is the Goodman curse (j/K). So we shove toilet paper up the nostril to stop the bleeding, it works great. I guess Emma was feeling a little left out so she decided to shove toilet paper up her nose. She just wanted to be like Daddy.

Let's celebrate Dr. Seuss's B-day.

Hi I am Cindy Lou Who! Shaylee came to school today dressed up as one of the characters from Dr. Seuss. She was pretty proud of the way she looked. When she looked in the mirror after Mom was done she said, I look Dang cute. Of course, Mom always agrees. Everyone made a big deal at school over Shaylee's hair and that just added to her big head head or hair I should say. We love showing school spirit and like to go all out. By the end of the day her head hurt because the cup (which is hidden under the hair) was digging into her head. When I picked her up from school she had the whole thing taken out. All my hard work down the drain. J/K

Holy EGG!

I think one of our chickens was constipated but not anymore. Let's just say that we found this egg in our chicken coup and can't believe it could have possibly came out of a chicken. There must have been some serious straining going on to lay that sucker. We had to show everyone the "dinosaur egg" as we like to call it. It is unbelievable but it is the truth.

Can I have this Dance?

Thanks to Grandmother Great Arrington my children have become quite the dancers. Shaylee and Blake have been studying the movie "The 12 Dancing Princesses" and finally have their moves down. I caught them in the family room working on their routine and I had to capture the moment. They were actually quite good and really were doing some great moves. Grandma Great would be proud. Shaylee would even correct Blake on where to place his hands.

Baby it's COLD outside

Emma did not like the snow. She came outside and picked up a big handful in her hands then realized it was way too cold. She just started crying and wanted to go back inside. So much for a fun playdate in the snow. Fire here we come!

Blake and Shaylee did not let the cold stop them. We made a little snowman. I don't know how people make snowmen in Missouri. I could not get the snow to stick together. We had to get pitchers of water and pour it on the snow then hurry and form into balls. Utah snow is much better Corene. I think we will stick to snowmen making in Utah. It was hard work for a little amusement. The kiddos loved it though and I guess that is all that matters. It is pretty sad when you have to use little pebbles for the eyes.

What are you Looking At!

"I know I am having a bad hair day, but leave me a lone and let me listen to my music." Emma was so funny just wanting to listen to my MP3 player like she was a big girl. Yes and her hair is disgusting, but it just doesn't lay down. This is exactly why her hair is always done, letting it be natural just won't do.
